HOUSTON -- Investigators are looking into a deadly police shooting.

It happened Friday afternoon at an apartment complex in southeast Houston not far from Cullen Middle School.

Witnesses say a man was arguing with a tow truck driver, and then pulled out a gun and threatened the driver.

Police arrived and told the man to drop the gun. But according to witnesses, the man started shooting instead.

“He shot three times. He just walked out to the driveway and fired one, then he fired another one and then he fired again. Then he dropped from getting shot. I mean, he walked out there like he was Billy the Kid. No cover, no nothing,” said Riley Thompson who witnessed the scene.

Officers returned fire, killing the man.

Authorities have not yet released the man’s name.
