A Harris County constable deputy shot and killed a man who pointed a gun and threatened to kill him Saturday during a domestic disturbance call, authorities said. The Precinct 4 deputy fired several shots at 27-year-old Jason Turner, who had minutes earlier shot his ex-girlfriend, police said.

Turner was transported to the hospital, where he died. His 37-year-old ex-girlfriend, whose name was not released, suffered from several gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital. She was in serious condition, police said.

The woman called authorities about 3:15 a.m. to report that Turner had broken the windows at her home in the 11700 block of Spring Path Court and then fled in a white Ford F-120 pickup.

When the deputy arrived to the northwest Harris County subdivision, police said, he saw Turner speeding through the neighborhood and pursued him. Turner drove back to his ex-girlfriend's house, got out of his truck, ran to the front door and fired several shots through the door, striking his ex-girlfriend, police said.

Turner then hurried back toward the street with his gun pointed at the deputy and repeatedly told the deputy that he would kill him unless the deputy killed him first, police said.

Police said Turner refused the deputy's order to drop his gun and get on the ground. Turner then threatened to kill a woman who ran out of the house before pointing his gun at the deputy again, police said, and that's when the deputy fired at Turner.
