LEAGUE CITY, Texas—Three suspects in a bar robbery were caught Sunday night, thanks to a joint effort by League City, Webster and Houston police.

It all started at about 9:30 p.m. at the Easy Street Bar in League City.

Police said three suspects armed with handguns went into the bar and asked customers for their cell phones and money.

A witness saw what was happening and called 911.

As League City Police responded to the call, the suspects fled the scene.

Shortly after they fled, Webster officers spotted the suspects’ car going westbound on NASA Parkway and Kobayashi Road.

They pulled the vehicle over, but the suspects bailed out.

The driver was arrested almost immediately.

Police said a second suspect made it to the middle of the parking lot before pointing his gun at a Webster officer.

Police said the officer opened fire, hitting the suspect in the head. The suspect was rushed to the hospital. His condition was not known.

The third suspect fled on foot, but an HPD helicopter found him in some nearby bushes.

“We share radio frequencies with the neighboring departments,” said Webster Police Chief Ray Smiley. “The minute that the broadcast goes out to, say, the League City officers, our officers also heard it. So they knew that the suspects were fleeing the scene so they knew to set up in the main roads.”

No one inside the bar was hurt, and all of the police officers involved escaped injury.
