A Houston police officer shot a burglary suspect who pointed a gun at him Monday night, police said.
About 10:30 p.m., two officers responded to a call of a burglary in progress at a home in the 1100 block of King, north of downtown. At the house, the officers encountered three people, one of whom pointed a gun and was shot by one of the officers, police said.
The other two ran away, but later were captured with the help of police dogs, according to authorities.
The suspect was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. The officers involved have been placed on routine administrative duties while authorities investigate.
