HPD officer arrested on drug charge

A Houston police officer has been relieved of duty after she was arrested on a felony drug charge Wednesday, an HPD official said Thursday.

Traci M. Tennarse, 29, was arrested in the 11900 block of the East Freeway shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday after an investigation by HPD's Internal Affairs Division, said department spokesman Gabe Ortiz.

She is charged with delivery of marijuana, 5 pounds to 50 pounds, a second-degree felony, Ortiz said.

Tennarse works in an administrative capacity with HPD's Identification Division.

She is being held in a Harris County Jail on $34,000 bond.

She has been relieved of duty with pay pending the outcome of HPD's ongoing investigation, Ortiz said.
