Richard Dorman, 49, is accused of inappropriately touching an 8-year-old girl

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A former detective from the Harris County Sheriff's Office is accused of sexually assaulting a young girl.

Richard Dorman, 49, appeared in court Friday morning for a probable cause hearing. Prosecutors say Dorman inappropriately touched an eight-year-old girl when she was visiting his Shore Acres home. They believe it may have happened several times.

The judge set a $30,000 bond and ordered Dorman to stay at least 200 feet away from the girl's home.
