HPD officer accused of theft appears in court

HOUSTON – A Houston police officer who has been charged with theft made his first court appearance on Monday.

Anthony Foster is accused of taking money from drivers during traffic stops.

After getting a tip, authorities set up a sting operation and they say Foster took the bait.

Right now, Foster is out on bond.

He is suspended with pay pending the outcome of the case.
