East Houston deputy involved shooting

HOUSTON -- Deputies responded, early Saturday, to shots being fired at a house at Avenue C and 73rd street in East Houston.

Upon arrival, deputies observed the suspect shooting his gun into the air from his front porch.

The Deputy ordered the suspect to put the gun down, but the suspect then reloaded the gun and started shooting again.

The suspect then allegedly pointed the weapon in the direction of the deputy.

The deputy, who said he feared for himself as well as the neighbors, shot the suspect.

He was transported to Ben Taub in serious condition.
