Off-duty deputy shoots suspect
An off-duty Harris County Sheriff's deputy shot a man Friday who threatened him with a weapon at a southwest Houston convenience station, authorities said.
The confrontation happened about 6:30 p.m. when the deputy saw the man stealing from a convenience store in the 11700 block of the Southwest Freeway, authorities said.
The man then threatened the deputy. Information about the weapon was not available.
The man, who was shot in his leg, was taken to a hospital, police said.
The deputy was not injured.
