At least one person was wounded Saturday when two Harris County deputies fired their weapons during a chase.
Deputies were dispatched to the 10200 block of Wortham around 2:45 a.m. to look for men knocking on apartment doors, said Deputy Janie Alvarez-Wagner, a spokeswoman for the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
A deputy ordered a male and female suspect in a vehicle to show their hands.
"At that time, the driver hits the gas pedal and takes off and comes towards both deputies," Alvarez-Wagner said.
Two deputies fired their weapons, but the driver did not stop. When the officers caught up to the vehicle, a foot chase ensued.
A deputy with a canine found and arrested the man, who had a gunshot injury on his wrist.
The woman fled the scene.
