HOUSTON -- A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting of a Texas Alcoholic and Beverage Commission officer, KPRC Local 2 reported Monday.
Houston police said Santos Soto Diaz, 23, was charged with aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.
TABC officer Michael Sehon, 40, was working an extra job as security for a jewelry dealer when they stopped at the Hilton Garden Inn at 3201 Sage on Friday at 3:30 p.m. so the jeweler could use the restroom.
Investigators said while Sehon waited in the parking lot, he was robbed at gunpoint by several males. Gunshots were exchanged and Sehon was shot in the leg, officials said.
During the shootout, Diaz was hit in both arms and the upper back, police said.
He was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening wounds.
Police then arrested and charged Diaz.
The other robbers escaped.
Anyone with information is asked to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
