HOUSTON -- A man suspected in a quadruple shooting was shot dead after he led deputies on a chase on Thursday, investigators told KPRC Local 2.
Harris County sheriff's deputies said four people were shot in the 14000 block of Landfair Street in north Harris County.
Two of the people were fatally wounded and the other two were taken to a hospital, investigators said.
Detectives said the shooter left in a SUV and a deputy spotted it a short time later. Deputies chased the SUV to the 2700 block of Bertrand Street, where the driver crashed.
The driver got out and pointed his gun toward deputies, investigators said. A deputy fired at the driver, striking him at least once, officials said.
The driver, whose name has not been released, was taken to Ben Taub Hospital. His condition was not released.
The motive for the shooting on Landfair Street is under investigation.
