HOUSTON -- Security guards shot a customer of a southwest Houston strip club Tuesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Houston police said the customer at the Player's Club on Bissonnet Street near the Southwest Freeway was kicked out at about 2:15 a.m. and things went out of control in the parking lot.
Club workers said the customer was on stage dancing with the women and became aggressive. He was asked to leave.
Commissioned security officers patrolling the parking lot confronted the man when he pulled out a gun from the trunk of his car, police said.
"They were pretty close to him because they approached him to tell him to let me see your hands, drop the gun, that kind of thing," Sgt. Michelle Gallagher said. "That's when he turned around, took the gun and started firing it toward them."
The guards opened fire and the customer suffered one gunshot wound. The customer was taken to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital and is expected to recover.
The case will be referred to the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
