Deputy Constables Were Trying To Arrest Woman

HOUSTON -- A deputy constable shot an armed woman who tried to run from law enforcement on Thursday, officials told KPRC Local 2.

Harris County Precinct 5 deputy constables and U.S. marshals went to a home on Linden Tree near Sable Palms in northwest Harris County at about 1 p.m. to arrest a woman on a warrant for aggravated assault of a family member charges.

The woman barricaded herself inside the home when officials arrived, detectives said.

Investigators said she later climbed out a window while armed with two guns.

A deputy constable shot the woman because he feared for his life, investigators said.

The woman was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment. Her condition was not released.

No deputy constables or marshals were hurt in the shooting.

The shooting is under investigation.
