Johnny J. Roth III, 23, shot and killed by Precinct 4 Harris County deputy constables T. Ashabranner and Randy Brown when they tried to serve Roth’s companion with an arrest warrant for probation violation. Police claim they shot into the apartment after they were fired upon. Investigators said one of the deputies was grazed by a bullet, possibly fired by the other deputy. Ashabranner and Brown were no-billed. Roth is the 7th person known to have been shot to death this year by a Harris County police officer.
