CRIME & COURTS From staff reports

A former Galleria security guard pleaded guilty Monday to four felonies connected to at least two recent robberies and sexual assaults at the mall and a nearby apartment complex.

Colby Dmon Minix, 25, was slated to begin trial for aggravated sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery - each of which carries a punishment ranging from probation to life in prison. He also pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated sexual assault, punishable by two to 20 years.

Prosecutors expect to show cell phone pictures Minix took of his rape in sentencing next month. Assistant District Attorney Katherine McDaniel said state District Judge Brock Thomas will consider the pictures, victim testimony and a pre-sentence investigation of Minix in his sentence.

Minix was arrested in March after authorities said he robbed, abducted and sexually assaulted a woman in a Galleria parking lot.
