A deputy shot an armed woman who was allegedly threatening to kill herself and harm her family members at a north Harris County residence early Sunday morning.
Deputies entered a residence in the 19200 block of Casper around 3 a.m., said Harris County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman deputy Janie Alvarez-Wagner.
Deputies found the woman with a gun in each hand, pointed at her head, Alvarez-Wagner said.
When a deputy gave the woman several commands to drop the guns, she refused and turned toward her mother with the guns still pointed at her head.
"Fearing that the female suspect was going to shoot her mother, the deputy fired his weapon," Alvarez-Wagner said.
The woman, whose identity was not released, was struck twice, once in the hand and in the face and head area, Alvarez-Wagner said. She was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital. Her condition was unavailable. No one else was injured.
